360 Degrees….

That’s how far we’ve come with “Bloggers Delight- Volume 1 – Stories on Love and Redemption”. Last night we celebrated nearly a year’s efforts of envisioning and executing ...a dream. In St Louis, MO we rejoiced together while culminating new friendships and rallying around old, all based upon one concept, “Blogging”…many of us spoke on the meaning of , the context in which we speak and how we met. Well we met just like I met most of you in this wonderful world of blogging. Bloggers first, then friends, now family. Being over anxious has never set well with me, and so I didn’t get much sleep come Thursday night anticipating this event and traveling the next day. It had rained 24 hours straight and Friday was no different at first, but later in the afternoon, the weather cleared up and I was making my way to the terminal…not as happy as I had been the previous night when I thought I would be hooking up with CAPCITY in the ATL, and have a cocktail or two…but that wouldn’t be happening cuz Caps’ flight got canceled. Arrived at the airport and was told my flight will be delayed, and the airport is crawling with people from, wall to wall, not a seat in sight…2 hours later I would be on my way…and with good news too…Cap got another flight and will be joining me and the others the next day. Rich was on time, picked me up from the airport, and the two of us laughed and talked about our journey, while we waited on one more to arrive….The sweet Sheletha. (that would be 3 am the next morning…I’ll let her tell you about that)…

SATURDAY –Capcity has arrived and me, Sheletha and Rich, all get reacquainted, eating and laughing. As Once the evening approached, US (Sheletha, CapC and Me) the ladies, proceeded to prepare for the nights festivities, when Blogger Sharon arrived to pick us up…of course we had to endure a photo shoot, but it was all good, (sidebar- Sheletha has the neatest camera) I think, as we are laughing and getting along like we’ve known each other 20 years or more, that this is my first time meeting Sheletha and Sharon, although in BloggerWorld we (Sheletha and I) have been knowing each other for a year or so…Sharon, just met her in the blogs only last week, but had you been with us, you would have thought differently. We arrived at the Lucas Park Grille, a beautiful stone faced building, open high ceilings, low candle lights that present a warm and welcome ambiance. Rich was looking quite debonair and serving as the gracious host welcoming everyone into the room….as we enter, I see my favorite Girly-Gurl, Saadia being her charming self. Saadia and I met in Blogworld a little over a year ago, we’ve met for the first time last June….we hug…and laughter ensues, she hugs Sheletha, Cordenia and Sharon, and of course we want to do pics again, and we do. The night goes off without a hitch, a great, steady crowd, wonderful conversations, and excellent food, not to mention the drinks…the night was off the chain, and then in walks Lance (that non-blogging Blogger) decked out in a sharp ass black suit and white tie…I mean brother was clean…of course more hugs and pics. During the last hour, we were entertained by a local comedian and the four of us Saadia, Cordenia, myself and Rich read from our respective pieces. Our readings were well-received and we signed copies for the remainder of the night…just when I thought the night couldn’t get any better in strolls Ms Lea78 and Suite B…OMG! I screamed, I can’t believe it…it was so nice to meet them, and I was so surprised that they showed up. Lea is so fun, and real, just like she is on her blog. Suite B, is so fly and is going to make a beautiful bride…we took lots of pics and some really strange ones I hope never surface (lol). We had a great time both there and the after set at “The Loft”…man…..i would tell you more…but what goes on in St. Louis, stays in St. Louis….

RECAP – That’s 9 blogger family members in one night…Miz, Capcity, Sheletha, Rich, Sharon, Lance, Lea78, Saadia and Suite B. True testament to the power of blogs, and our impact…we are only beginning here, this was just the spark… Bloggers Delight- Volume 2 will be the fire…don’t sleep on it... be sure to check out our site for submission dates and information.
