I am beautiful, but not the beautiful defined by society.
I can take on the world...with faith.
My body by definition is God Given and doesn't require any adjustments. I realize I'm not the model type or the body that man in it's infinite dreams may desire and yet...i am made for one.
Life's up and downs teaches us all how to swim. Learn to swim.
My fate has already been determined and that is up to me, to live the life that i was meant to.
I've committed and done the best I've could with what i got and there is no reason to feel shame or regret but only to rejoice in my doing.
In Faith and acts.
Life does not dictate to us, we dictate to life. What you truly believe...comes true.
No matter how many times you show me the money...the money is not what I'm about.
My forever love is out there and waiting...and I'm waiting too!
My dreams are leading me and yet keeping me in place.
That all that is good will furbish, even in these lands.
In the righteousness of men and women and their ability to combat and win.
In you.

What I dig about this MOST is that it was written by A Grown-Ass-Black-Woman! Even with your education, talents and lessons learned, I seriously doubt that you could have written this when you were, say, 25 years old.
No. This piece refects personal growth, evolution, inner-peacefulness, self-acceptance, self-worth & best of all: Self-Love.

@Moanerplicity -You are so right my brother, at 25 i had no idea of my own self-worth, beauty, intelligence or talent. I look back on those days of always try to please others, trying to keep up with the Jones's and trying to be somebody i was not. Now i cherish the place i am in and i thank you for seeing and acknowledging my growth, my love and my renewal! Love it when you comment!
